Research Interests

Kenn is recognized internally and externally as the leading seismic stratigraphy expert at Chevron. Seismic stratigraphy is one of the most important technologies for subsurface characterization and Chevron spends millions of dollars each year collecting and processing seismic data from around the world. He has led the development and deployment of tools, workflows, and best practices in the interpretation and utilization of seismic data to characterize subsurface reservoirs. He has an exceptional technical legacy and authority within upstream business units and Chevron Technical Center and is the corporate resource for evaluating Chevron’s most important exploration and development reservoir opportunities worldwide.

Kenn is also a leading expert in stratigraphic characterization of groundwater aquifers and has led numerous groundwater resource assessments for seawater intruded aquifers, remedial investigations (RIs) for impacted sites, and preliminary site assessments (PSAs) for impacted sites. He was the first stratigrapher to apply sequence stratigraphy in groundwater remediation, and it has now become a best practice by the USEPA.
